A Thanksgiving grocery list the whole household adds to
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26. The cooking is the easy part. The hard part is a week of “did anyone get the cranberry sauce?”, so put the whole thing on one list.
Plan the dinner on the calendar
In Home List’s Calendar, go to the week of November 22, tap “Plan dinners”, then “+ Plan dinner” on Thursday. Call it Thanksgiving dinner, choose who’s cooking, and write down what it needs: turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, rolls, pie. One tap sends the ingredients to your grocery list, each labelled “for Thanksgiving dinner · Thu”, so everyone can see why it’s there.
Plan the other nights that week the same way. Leftovers on Friday count.
One list, on every phone
Everyone in the household adds to the same list from their own phone, iPhone or Android, and it updates on everyone else’s straight away. Items sort themselves by aisle, so everything from one part of the store sits together. Shopping two stores? Keep a list for each: one for the warehouse club, one for everything else.
Split the jobs
Use chores for the work that isn’t shopping: thaw the turkey on Sunday, pick up the pies on Wednesday, set the table on Thursday afternoon. Give each one a day and a person, or leave it open for whoever claims it first with a tap.
The store reminds you
Pin the stores you use. When someone arrives with items still on the list, their phone tells them, even with the app closed. Turn on Live Alerts and the rest of the household hears about it too, which is the moment to add the thing you just remembered while they’re still in the aisle. A reminder at one store is free; Premium covers every store.
On the way out, scan the receipt and Home List records what everything cost, so you can see what the holiday came to.
